Recover hidden files from shortcut affected Pen Drive/Memory Card without using Antivirus

        Nowadays it has become a common problem that sometimes when we open our Pen drives/ Memory card it shows all our folders and data in it converted into shortcut icons shown below.

      I will tell a few methods to remove this type of virus without using any antivirus. If you have not formatted your flash drive then you could solve it very easily.

1. Using File explorer

• Install any of the file explorer. I prefer Turbo Navigator which is a freeware.
• Now open your flash drive through file explorer.
• Then delete all the files with extension .lnk and other Suspicious files.
• After that select all the remaining files in it by pressing CTRL +A.
• From the Command tab given at the top select Change Attribute.
• Remove the tick mark given in Hidden (shown below) by double clicking on it.

• Then press OK to all the pop-up windows.

2. Using RUN command

• Insert your flash drive to your system and assume your drive letter as G: (note it from My computer window).
• Click on Start -> Run and type cmd then click ok. The RUN command window can be also opened using the shortcut method by pressing WINDOWS KEY + R.
• Type the command

           attrib -h -r -s/ s/ d g:\*.*

• You can also copy and paste the command using the right mouse button.

           Don't forget to change the drive letter g with your flash drive letter.

• Then press Enter key. Now it will be solved.
